Conference papers will be published in a special volume of the Red Book series by the International Association of Hydrological Sciences (IAHS) in early 2009. A selection of conference papers will be published in a special issue of Hydrological Sciences Journal.

Both the IAHS Red Book volume of conference papers and the special issue of Hydrological Sciences Journal will be distributed to all conference participants.

Technical and policy-related recommendations summarised in The Kampala Statement will be distributed to all African governments via the African Groundwater Commission set up by the African Ministerial Committee on Water (AMCOW) and communicated directly to upcoming international fora in Japan (IAH XXXVI Congress in Toyama), USA (International Conference on Water Scarcity, Global Changes, and Groundwater Management Challenges at the University of California at Irvine), and Denmark (Climate Change: Global Risks, Challenges and Decisions in Copenhagen) as well as the 5th World Water Forum in Instanbul and United Nations Climate Change Summit in Copenhagen in 2009.
